Dear Expectant Parent,
Hello from our family! First and foremost, we want to thank you for taking the time to get to know our family. We cannot begin to imagine the journey you are on and commend your bravery for considering adoption for your precious one. We know that the decisions you are making are being made out of love for your child.
We are Eric (32) and Brianna (28) and we have been married for almost three years. We met at new teacher orientation as first year teachers. Little did we know, we would be teaching in the same school! Our relationship was strong from the start and just after a year of dating we got engaged and then married in March of 2017. Eric’s parents have been married for 39 years and he is the youngest of three children. His older sister is married with three children and one on the way. His older brother lives in Kentucky, but comes back to visit us frequently. Brianna’s parents have been married for 34 years and she is the middle of three children. Her older sister is married with two children and her younger sister works as a paraprofessional in the same school we teach at. We live less than 20 minutes from both of our families which allows us many opportunities to see them. Eric teaches elementary P.E and Brianna teaches second grade. We love spending every day with our students, shaping them into the young men and women they will become. We also have a very sweet and cuddly, 4 year old Greyhound, named Duke.
Starting a family was something we knew we wanted from the start of our relationship. Our journey began a few months after we were married. We tried, unsuccessfully, to get pregnant for many months. After about a year, we went to see a fertility specialist where we were told we would most likely not get pregnant without medical interventions. We tried two rounds of Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) and one cycle of In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF). These treatments were ultimately unsuccessful. We knew we still wanted a family so we began researching adoption. After much prayer, reflection, and discussion, we ultimately made the decision to go forward with adoption. We truly feel that through all of the heartache of infertility, God was calling us to adopt. We have so much love to give and we cannot wait to welcome a child into our hearts.
Sports are a huge part of our lives and it is something we can’t wait to share with our future children. We both grew up playing sports and continued through high school and college. Eric currently coaches high school football and baseball. Much of our time is spent enjoying the weather and watching the games he coaches. When we aren’t at a ball field, we love taking Duke for walks through the neighborhood or to the park to play. We also enjoy spending time with both of our families. It is not uncommon for Sundays to be spent with one of our families cooking dinner and enjoying time together. One of Eric’s biggest hobbies is woodworking. He loves to build and create furniture or decorative pieces for our house, or other families. Brianna loves to read. She loves the adventure that a good book can take you on. We also love to go on vacations together, or with our families. Some of our favorite trips have been to Disneyworld, Colorado, and beach vacations with both of our families. We can’t wait to share our love of adventure and travel with our future children.
We truly want to thank you for considering adoption for your child. We know that this decision has been made out of love for your child. We want you to know that, as adoptive parents, we will love your child unconditionally and always allow them to know you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to get to know us. We look forward to sharing more with you in the future.
Eric and Brianna
