"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)

God's plans for our lives don't always look like we hoped or expected. For us, that meant two out of our three pregnancies ended in difficult miscarriages. For you, it may mean an unexpected pregnancy. This verse is a reminder for both of us that no matter what our current circumstances may look like, God has a good and beautiful plan for our future. We truly believe that adoption is an important part of God's plan for our future. We began discussing adoption early in our marriage and have been waiting on God's perfect timing. After our second miscarriage, we knew that it was time for us to pursue adoption.

Let me tell you a little bit about us. Our faith and our family are the most important aspects of our lives. Aaron and I have both lived in Colorado our whole lives and still live in the same town as all of our immediate family. We both had wonderful childhoods and are still very close to our parents and siblings who are amazing role models and supports for living out the Christian faith. I have a younger brother and Aaron is the middle child out of three boys. We spend time with our family frequently and they are just as excited as we are to add another child to our family through adoption.

Aaron and I were introduced twice before we began building a friendship and then a relationship. After high school, my good friend asked me to go with her to listen to Aaron's band play because she had a crush on one of the band members. The third time was a charm! Long story short, she is now married to that band member, Aaron's brother, and I am married to Aaron! We dated for less than a year when Aaron's father was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. We made the decision to get married earlier than planned in the hopes that he could be at our wedding. Aaron proposed on a trip to California in May, 2007. One year later, in May of 2008 we had a beautiful wedding in the Cayman Islands and Aaron's father was there with us! Sadly, he passed away only five months later. We were so blessed that we got to share that time with him.

We spent the next five years completing our college education and establishing our careers. I have a masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology and work in early intervention, helping children under the age of three who have delays in their communication or feeding skills. Aaron has an MBA and is the National Sales Manager for a company that manufactures outdoor warning sirens. We purchased our first house in July of 2009. In August of 2014, we were blessed with our beautiful daughter, Sydney. She is smart, funny, and kind. Even though she is sometimes quiet and serious, she also loves to entertain like her daddy. She brings so much joy to our lives. Sydney has been praying at night for a baby brother or sister and can't wait to be a big sister.

We currently live in a quiet neighborhood in a small town in Colorado with our two Labrador Retrievers, McGee and Dalhart. We moved into our dream home over two years ago and we both have very comfortable and flexible careers. I work three days a week and Aaron works four days a week. On the two days of the week that she isn't with one of us, Sydney gets to spend her time with her grandparents and cousins. In our free time, we love doing things as a family. Some of our favorite things to do are camping or hiking in the mountains nearby, going to the zoo or museum, going to church, going to story time at the local library, and just spending time with our family. Aaron loves music, football, golf, and fishing. I love to sew and craft and volunteer my free time to a nonprofit organization sewing diaper shirts for babies in the NICU. Sydney loves swimming, reading, and playing pretend. All in all, we are a very happy, financially comfortable, warm, and loving family that is so excited to add another baby boy or girl to our bunch! Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about our family. We will be keeping you in our prayers as you walk through this complicated time in your life. We truly believe that God has great plans for you and your unborn child! If you think that our family might be a part of that plan, we would love to talk to you further.
